On the June Long Weekend, 16 lucky players (and a parent) from our Year 4 to Year 9 junior sides flew to Wiluna for the June long weekend. The weekend was a great learning opportunity for our boys from the western suburbs of Perth with a number of activities around sharing learnings and interacting with the local indigenous kids from Wiluna and surrounds, with the back drop of a common interest in football.
The annual game was played between Dalkeith Nedlands and the Wiluna Martu Eagles and in a move from tradition, the teams were split evenly between all players from both clubs. The team playing under the Wiluna Martu Eagles jumpers won on the day, but the real winner was the experience the boys had over the weekend.

In a terrific start to the 2016 season, the DNJFC Auskick was invited to play Auskick games at half time at Domain Stadium in the West Coast Eagles vs Collingwood game in early May.
56 lucky kids from Pre Primary to Year 3 got to play on the big stage in front of a sell out crowd and these are memories that will stay with the kids for many years. |
